<p>Every day, before you go out of the house or hotel room, ask yourself this question, &#8220;Do I have a burning desire to succeed and have I a set of written goals for today in order to stay on track and be successful&#8221;?</p>
<p>It is critical that before you &#8220;take off&#8221; down the runway that you have checked to be sure everything is functioning right in the most important territory, your mind! Many times you have heard the statement &#8220;it&#8217;s all in your mind!&#8221;. Well, that is a big factor in your success. If you don&#8217;t have your thinking right, then probably all else will be at risk. If you were in a commercial aircraft going at full speed down the runway, you don&#8217; want the pilot thinking about his vacation in the next week. You want his or her full attention on the task at hand, fully expecting to get airborne and on to the scheduled destination. In fact, both the pilot and co-pilot have gone through extensive checklists prior to leaving the gate and prior to roll-out for the takeoff as well. They have made sure all is right.</p>
<p>If you have developed a habit of checking in with yourself before you take off, you will insure that you are headed in the right direction.</p>
<p>So many times we get distracted by issues of family, money, job stress and time constraints that we forget to check in with ourselves to be sure that we are &#8220;ready for takeoff&#8221;. It take only a short time to develop a checklist for every day. Sit down and write out the things you need to get up-to-speed with before you start.</p>
<p>Ask yourself:</p>
<p>Do I have a desire to succeed today?<br />
Am I positive and expecting good things?<br />
Have I practiced my presentation and do I have all the information I need?<br />
Have I firmly implanted in my mind that everyone I meet today is a prospect for my ideas, service or product?<br />
Can I, for just one day, do all the things I need to do to be successful. Yesterday is gone and tomorrow is a long way off. Today is all I have.</p>
<p>You can add questions to the checklist as it fits your situation. The key is to check with yourself every day to insure that your thinking is right. If your thinking is right, then the universe will step in to help you insure your success. I remember one of my mentors told me that good luck is all around but only will attach itself to those who are ready to use it. I believe he was right.</p>

<p>Have you ever truly stopped to think about what all this &#8220;Going Green&#8221; is about? Well, it never really occurred to me, until I was introduced to a company that has been providing naturally based products for over 20 years, just how &#8220;Going Green&#8221; would change my life. When I converted my home over to products that contain no harsh chemicals and that are environmentally safe, not only did I see the change physically, but it gave me a peace of mind. I truly feel good about helping the environment and I feel like I am being an even better mother and wife to my family for providing items in the home that are healthier.</p>
<p>My husband is a health inspector for the United States Army. He takes great pride in keeping our home clean and generally he has taken on all the duties of cleaning and dusting and the like. I know what you are thinking; I am truly a blessed woman not to have to have this as a responsibility. Well, generally when he would clean the house he would wear gloves to protect his hands to use the chemically based products that we would buy at the local stores and like a good wife, I would just let him. I never thought that I would volunteer to do the cleaning when I didn&#8217;t have to, but now I truly don&#8217;t mind.</p>
<p>Our family didn&#8217;t only convert to natural based cleaning products, we use naturally based vitamins, dental hygiene products, skin care products and the list goes on. This company provides more than 350 products to choose from. I truly am a customer for life. I no longer purchase my laundry detergents , cleaning products or pain relievers from the local stores, I have them shipped to me directly and save money by doing this! I enjoy introducing others to this &#8216;new&#8217; way of life. I love telling people of another option to buy items that we use every day that are healthier for our families and safer for our homes. There&#8217;s no coming up with more money but simply switching stores. My new lifestyle helps the environment and saves me money. <p>Many people, wanting to engage in light conversation with another, fear that they will be boring. And boring you might be, but it is better to take a chance on being boring than not trying at all. If you don&#8217;t try you&#8217;ll never know. Don&#8217;t worry about charming the pants off someone. Rather focus your attention on meeting them. Let go of all your preconceived notions about how another will respond to you. If they don&#8217;t respond in a positive way, oh well. That is their problem, not yours. They are the ones missing out on you.</p>
<p>The most important thing whenever trying to initiate a simple chat with another person is to approach that person with a smile, and maybe even a hand shake. Smiles are a world-renowned ice-breaker that opens the door to practically every conversation. Smiles soften people. A handshake mixed with a smile lets the other know you are no threat. A smile sends a message of comfort to the other. A handshake sends the message of sincerity.</p>
<p>Take a moment to reflect on the last time you met someone for the first time. Perhaps that reflection is upon a job interview. The interviewer and yourself greeted each other with a smile and a hand shake before walking into his or her office. Not only was this an act of professionalism, but it was also an ice-breaker. Both your prospective employer and yourself relaxed more after this initial greeting. Apply this same principle to every time you initiate an interaction.</p>
<p>Another small talk mistake not to make is not paying attention to your body language as you make your approach. Body language is very important in every interaction, especially when becoming involved in a new relationship. We all notice the interests of another in many situations, and when see that person approach we are looking at their body language. That body language sends us signals and messages of which we begin to evaluate. And yours does too! Become aware of your body language. Good body language will get you better results than poor body language.</p>
<p>Asking close ended questions is a big mistake. The answer should be obvious. A closed question gets a dead-end response. And once you get a dead end response you will be standing there trying to recover and come up with something else.</p>
<p>Not listening is another small talk mistake. Light conversation can be fun, interesting and engaging, but it requires one to listen, even if the light conversation may seem boring. If it seems boring keep listening, because small talk has a tendency of taking turns. Conversations can go off into a variety of places and never sticks to any one for a long period of time. The more you listen the more involved you are able to become in the ensuing chat. And even these simple conversations can get quite relaxing and funny at times. Perhaps, this is what small talk is about: relaxing and having fun!</p>

<p>When people have confidence, they consistently take action and make necessary changes, they get results and achieve their goals.</p>
<p>When people lack confidence, however, they get stuck and they remain stuck. They may have the same ability and skills as a person with confidence, but because they lack confidence they don&#8217;t easily take action towards their goals.</p>
<p>Having confidence is essential to achieving your goals and living your dreams.</p>
<p>You may have the knowledge and skills to do something, you may have all your goals and action steps written out, you may have everything in place to go ahead and achieve your goal&#8230; live your dream&#8230; start doing the things that you want to do in your life.</p>
<p>You may have everything right ready to put into action&#8230; but without confidence, without confidence in your ability to do this and to achieve it&#8230; you won&#8217;t get very far.</p>

The choices you make now and in the future will determine how well you will stand up to the perils of life as you approach your senior years. By taking the time to learn some ways you can improve your life now can help you live longer and healthier.</p>
<p>Eating a Healthier Diet</p>
<p>Most of us are guilty of not eating foods that are good for our health. We develop poor eating habits at an early age, and we tend to put off making changes that will improve our well being. We may make small changes when the need for losing weight is important or during a time when certain foods may take a tool on the way we feel, but it takes something major for us to really make a change in the way we eat. The problem is that quite often by the time we make the decision to make changes, it&#8217;s too late for them to make a difference. <p>Stress is always an important issue, but as we get older, it begins to take a greater toll on our health. It&#8217;s important to learn to reduce stress levels before they cause severe health problems, and the best time to do that is when you are still young enough to fight the impulse to allow stress to consume you. Even every day conditions such as asthma, allergies, and even colds and hay fever can be caused by stress. Stress can cause the immune system to break down, and when that happens, it is ripe for many different conditions and illnesses.</p>
<p>Maintain a Proper Weight</p>
<p>In order to stay healthy, you need to keep your weight within normal range. If you are overweight, you will have less energy and thus be unable to exercise or even do household chores. Excess weight also puts a strain on your heart and makes you more likely to have a heart attack. Of course, maintaining a proper weight falls in directly with the other methods of developing a healthy lifestyle since you need to exercise and eat healthy foods in order to maintain a proper weight. Since many people have a tendency to overeat when they are under stress, keeping that in control can also help you keep your weight within normal range. Although some recent evidence suggests that being up to 10% overweight is healthier than being 10% underweight, it is healthier to be as close to a normal range as possible.</p>
<p>Making the choice to change your lifestyle is essential if you want to live a healthy and pain free lifestyle. There is no substitute for healthy living, and healthy living comes from making lifestyle changes that affect your complete body and mind. Only by making those important changes can you expect to live a normal, healthy life into your golden years.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p id="body">We hate our ordinary lives, most of us. It&#8217;s an insult that we can&#8217;t be famous, or &#8217;successful,&#8217; or filthy rich. It might sound like an overstatement but that is basically the way we see things most of the time, is it not? We want the easy life that is full of contentment and any possession we&#8217;d care to own&#8230; long life, good name or &#8220;fame,&#8221; and prosperity.</p>
<p>Ironically, there are not many people that actually believe this sort of &#8216;dream&#8217; life is possible. Most people are realistic enough to know this. Yet, we strive for more. We&#8217;re typically discontent with our lot.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve commented on Avril Lavigne&#8217;s songs before. Her song &#8220;Anything But Ordinary,&#8221; off the hit album &#8220;Let Go,&#8221; says so much about the frustration of life, and the anguish and torment, not to mention the boredom of it, we deal with under the surface in everyday life:</p>
<p><em>Is it enough to love?<br />
Is it enough to breath?<br />
Somebody rip my heart out<br />
And leave me here to bleed<br />
Is it enough to die?<br />
Somebody save my life<br />
I&#8217;d rather be anything but ordinary please</em></p>
<p><em>To walk within the lines<br />
Would make my life so boring<br />
I want to know that I<br />
Have been to the extreme<br />
So knock me off my feet<br />
Come on now give it to me<br />
Anything to make me feel alive</em></p>
<p>It&#8217;s a statement of discontent. Its problem is life itself. Is life &#8220;enough?&#8221; Is it enough to experience the absolute pinnacle of life? i.e. <em>love</em>. Is it enough to go through life simply breathing, or &#8216;complying&#8217; with life&#8217;s demands and rules-is it <em>good enough</em>? Ordinary things, and even extraordinary things, like love, don&#8217;t seem enough at times. Is it enough to die; rather be dead than ordinary? Please? What about &#8216;extremes.&#8217; Some people, and particularly the young, need to go to the extremes to &#8216;taste&#8217; life, the life that&#8217;s not so boring; to break up the tedium.</p>
<p>There has to be more to life, surely! There has to be something to put our hope in; something more to stimulate us. There must be some rational and real purpose to it all. And there is. It&#8217;s right under our nose and so very obvious, yet we don&#8217;t see it because it doesn&#8217;t <em>appear</em> interesting enough.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m suggesting that the ordinary life; my plain and ordinary life, is so uniquely special, just being alive and thinking about all the possibilities is on its own, simply breathtaking. The fact that I am &#8216;here&#8217; typing this article, communicating to you, and able to speak to myself and think and create, is simply marvelous. Why do I think this way?</p>
<p>The above paragraph is not an overstatement. We live at the very cusp of time: the present. We have the power to create history; in fact, whether we like it or not, that is exactly <em>what</em> we are doing in the present.</p>
<p>Oswald Chambers says, <em>&#8220;Drudgery is the touchstone of character&#8230; There are times when there is no&#8230; thrill, but just the daily round, the common task&#8230;. Do not expect God always to give you His thrilling minutes, but learn to live in the domain of drudgery by the power of God.&#8221;</em>[1]</p>
<p>Drudgery is not a very exciting word; in fact it is quite ghastly. The point is you and your life: it is a gift from God. He gives it to you so you can discover your life purpose, something each one of us has to discover for his or her own. That purpose will drive us through life giving us power to create loving relationships so we can leave our legacy on life.</p>

<li>What does your family and co-workers say of you?</li>
<p>You can have any ordinary life you want. You may as well; you&#8217;ll be stuck doing it forty hours a week for most of the rest of your life, so you might as well enjoy it! I can honestly say I&#8217;ve not had &#8220;Mondayitis&#8221; for the past fifteen years, which equates to 60 percent of my work life. I love work, and I also love rest. What about you? Do you look forward to your life&#8230; your work&#8230; time with your family?</p>
<p>Life is drudgery most of the time, so get over it and start <em>living</em> it. Be present one moment at a time.  Things will change gradually.  You&#8217;ll begin to love what you have. It&#8217;s great!</p>

<p><strong>Being in business for myself for 30 years </strong>and being the proverbial &#8216;one man band&#8217; tends to guide you into your own little world of perfection. It&#8217;s my way or no way. Branding yourself like that just kind of sneaks up on you. It doesn&#8217;t have to be a business of one. It could be a husband, wife, parent or child. When you do it your way and shun suggestions of maybe doing it another way because you already know the best way, has only infested you negatively and you know it to be true. You do it to the point of it causing a &#8217;stun gun&#8217; effect on yourself. A self inflicted shot in the foot, if you will. Paralyzing you and refusing to admit your stubborn shortcomings, no matter what the subject.</p>
<p><strong>So, let&#8217;s pretend for a moment</strong> that you are not perfect in your own little world of control. And for a fact you already know that nobody else is perfect either. Ah, what a comfort in knowing that out of all those you know, you are the most perfect. Ouch, there you go again categorizing yourself as above the norm.</p>
<p><strong>Realize that if surroundings </strong>and all that are in them were perfect, there would be no growth, no challenges to improve and experiment with life&#8217;s choices. You might as well take hammer and nail and build a perfect coffin and lay yourself down to sleep in it.</p>
<p>Y<strong>ou are never alone unless you choose to be.</strong> That&#8217;s your choice. Thankfully very few think that being a loner is the perfect answer to control and happiness. We are built to interact, tell stories, share heartaches, comfort others as they comfort you in time of stressful needs. But the most positive of life&#8217;s experiences is to share the positive moments and actions and successes. It makes you feel good to share them and it makes the other person or persons feel uplifted, inspired and happy to know you and your personality and the fact that they are not much different than you.</p>
<p><strong>So we have admitted, even out loud</strong>, &#8220;I&#8217;m not perfect anymore!&#8221; I&#8217;ve always known it, but now at this time of my life it&#8217;s a sure bet. So what do I do? What am I actually admitting?</p>
<p><strong>As an official Baby Boomer Generation groupie </strong>and a long time one man band, I&#8217;ve opened myself up more to business networking associations and am appreciating the business building efforts of a diversity of talents within my affiliations. Growing a business with a passion for others to grow in their desires to have a small home based business and then being the receiver of emotional and financial rewards for my efforts doesn&#8217;t seem fair.</p>
<p><strong>It&#8217;s the principle of </strong>&#8220;Help others get what they desire and in return get more of what you desire. Am I being selfish? If helping others while helping yourself is selfish, then I&#8217;m guilty. Seeking my personal pleasures in this special time of life while helping others to seek and find their personal pleasures in wanting a home based business and then finding it because of what I do. That&#8217;s ironic, isn&#8217;t it? We were born with that desire but some of us have suppressed it for any number of reasons. If you suffer from the fear of not being perfect anymore by not being perfect anymore, get over it and get on with living. After all, the world isn&#8217;t perfect you know.</p>
<p><strong>Recently I opened up an association </strong>that I closed off about 12 years ago. I never burned that bridge and Dec. 31st an individual walked across that bridge and just a few short weeks later my enthusiasm for a new product and business model in helping others while I&#8217;m helping myself has emerged. I am practicing what I preach. A simple message with a less than perfect solution yet a ground swelling foundation to build a more imperfect world that just may become a more perfect association for helping you while helping others. Huh? Not being perfect is bliss.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p id="body">Do you ever have one of those weeks? Nothing is particularly going wrong, but you just can&#8217;t seem to get in the groove of things? Yeah, I&#8217;m there.</p>
<p>But I made a decision as I sat down to write this article, that I was not going to give in to it. I splashed some water on my face, brushed and flossed (and swished), put on some fresh clothes, and I immediately started to feel better.</p>
<p>Amazing. It has been raining for about 7 straight days - unheard of here in sunny California. People move here to escape this gloom-inducing weather. So, that&#8217;s why we have to be proactive when blahs hit us.</p>
<p>Of course it does not have to be the weather that turns our mood dark. Any number of things can trigger it. The good part is, we can do something about it. Besides the &#8220;freshening up&#8221; steps I mentioned previously, here are some other ideas you might want to consider:</p>
<p>* Go to the bookstore and browse your favorite section</p>
<p>* Eat a piece of fresh fruit</p>
<p>* Pick up your favorite book from the shelf and start reading</p>
<p>* Go online and find a friendly and interesting forum - participate</p>
<p>* Stand in front of the mirror, and smile</p>
<p>* Try on some clothes that you haven&#8217;t worn in a long time</p>
<p>* Take a trip to Goodwill with some goodies that you found</p>
<p>* Look up an old friend on Google and contact them</p>
<p>* Put on a fun piece of music and dance</p>
<p>* Write yourself a love letter</p>
<p>* Make up your own list of fun things to do and share it with others</p>
<p>These are just a few things. I purposefully picked stuff you could do if it was raining non-stop. If it&#8217;s clear outside, that opens up a whole slew of other fun opportunities to lift your spirit.</p>
<p>If you are still feeling lethargic, go to a room where it&#8217;s quiet and you won&#8217;t be disturbed. Sit in a comfortable place and be still. Allow your troubled thoughts to linger, until they slowly drift away. Concentrate on going inside yourself. Picture a comforting fire burning inside of you. The warmth touches you in a way that melts any troublesome energy that may be present. All that is left is a smoldering, burning passion.</p>
<p>You begin to feel not only positive, but more alive then you have felt in a long time. When you open your eyes, move your fingers and toes and feel the electricity cursing through you. Smile, and know that you can recharge any time you are feeling low - complements of our inner source - our warmest and closest ally.</p>
